Chelsea play their final game of the Europa Conference League group phase on Thursday when they host Irish side Shamrock Rovers at Stamford Bridge.
Enzo Maresca’s side currently boast a perfect record in the competition having won all five of their matches so far, and they therefore sit top of the table having already secured automatic qualification for the knockout phase.
The Italian has primarily used an almost entirely different squad of players for European matches this season compared to his usual Premier League line-up, and he is expected to once again name a youthful side against Shamrock on Thursday.
One player that will likely be involved in some capacity if midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka, although it appears that he could soon leave the Blues.
As per CaughtOffside, midfielder Chukwuemeka is attracting interest from several clubs and could be allowed to leave Stamford Bridge next month.
The report claims that several sides from across Europe have expressed interest in the Englishman, who Maresca is prepared to let leave.
It is claimed that Maresca is wary the 21-year-old’s distinct lack of playing time could be hindering his development, and he could therefore be allowed to leave in January either on loan or permanently.
Chukwuemeka has not featured for Chelsea in the Premier League this season
Chukwuemeka joined Chelsea from Premier League rivals Aston Villa in the summer of 2022 and has since played 32 times for the West London club across all competitions.
Since the arrival of Maresca over the summer, the Englishman has been frozen out of the first team squad almost entirely.
His only five appearances of the season so far have come in the Conference League and Carabao Cup, with just one start to his name so far.
The report suggests that Chelsea are willing to let the midfielder leave on loan next month to help his development, although the club could also consider selling the player for the right price.
Chelsea’s London rivals West Ham United are said to be among the clubs that are interested in a potential deal for the midfielder.
Italian sides AC Milan and Napoli are said to be interested in Chukwuemeka, as well as German outfit Eintracht Frankfurt and La Liga side Atletico Madrid.
