'Something special': Alan Shearer has just agreed with Nuno on his £12m Nottingham Forest…

Nottingham Forest have started the 2023/24 campaign extremely well.

The Reds occupy fourth place in the Premier League table and the club look to be winning some support from outside influences.

A number of pundits have already been made to look extremely stupid and ill-researched this season.

Gary Lineker has changed his mind on Forest already and he’s not the only one who had Nuno Espirito Santo’s team down for relegation.

On Saturday, Theo Walcott raved about Anthony Elanga as he scored a late winner to secure a big three points for Forest.

The game saw a number of top performers, however, and Alan Shearer has found himself agreeing with Espirito Santo on one player.

Alan Shearer agrees with Nuno Espirito Santo on Nikola Milenkovic

The Forest head coach was extremely pleased with his team on Saturday and he made a nice comment about Milenkovic after the game.

He said in an interview with Nottinghamshire Live: “I hope it continues. He did really well besides just the goal. He gives something special to the team.”

Shearer agrees and for the second successive week, the pundit has named Milenkovic in his Premier League Team of the Week.

He said: “His influence is growing by the week. He scored for the second successive match for a Forest team who have climbed into the top four.”

Death, taxes and Milenkovic being absolutely brilliant during a game of football for Forest.

His £12 million arrival from Fiorentina was met with some intrigue, with many fancying him to join a much bigger club than Forest when his time came to leave.

However, Forest won the race and thankfully it seems that the club aren’t living to regret signing a player who had never played in England.

The captain leads by example in every game he plays and he once again superb against Aston Villa.

His aerial presence is extremely good and ultimately, although he doesn’t wear the armband, it feels like he’s a captain when he’s out on the pitch.

Forest have hit the jackpot again on the recruitment front and long may this policy continue in future windows.
