Liverpool are keeping a close eye on Chelsea defender Malo Gusto. The 21 year old right back has been a key player for the Blues in their recent success.
Malo Gusto has been one of the best players for Chelsea this season. He has so far played 15 matches this season and recorded 2 assists. The 21 year old 11 Premier League games this term and helped the Blues to secure 2nd position in points table.
Chelsea have no intention to sell Gusto as they consider him a key asset. In addition, they want to sign another right back instead of selling due to the injury crises of their club captain Reece James. But, this is not stopping other clubs from keeping tabs on Gusto.
Liverpool plotting a move for Chelsea star Malo Gusto
According to CaughtOffside, the Reds are planning to make a move for Malo Gusto. The Blues will make it very hard for any interested club but it won’t stop Liverpool from testing them. The Reds are desperate to sign right back due to current situation.
Liverpool are very likely looking to lose Trent Alexander-Arnold next season. The player will be out of contract at the end of the season and there are still no talks about extension. As of now, Arnold is heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid.
The Reds will view Gusto as a quality replacement for Arnold. They would agree to spend big in order to find a proper replacement without dropping the quality on the right side. Gusto is only 21 years old and can become a long term investment at any club.
Despite the Reds monitoring Arnold’s replacement, their priority still remains to sign a new contract with Arnold. They will hope that their academy product continues at the Anfield for longer instead of making move to the other side of Europe.
