Arsenal vs Bayern Munich: Possible Line-ups

The possible line-ups are derived from previous match days. We take into consideration how strong the opponents are, what players are injured and of course team news before the match.

Team News Arsenal

Renée Slegers said the team avalibility is the same as against Liverpool. That means Lia Wälti will not be with the squad, Kim Little is making good progress but possinly not ready yet and Wienroiter is still to be managed:

“We’ve just had to manage Kim. She happened to be back in training before Liverpool, which was very positive. But we also knew there were only a couple of days before Liverpool following two games with tight turnarounds, so we are just building her back with minutes. So, we haven’t been planning the whole block for Kim to play against Bayern. She was just away, and we had to build her back into availability.”

What the coach has to say

Slegers and her team lost 5-2 to Bayern Munich in the first Women’s Champions League meeting. The head coach was asked what would be different this time: “We’ve spoken about it this morning as a team, we’re obviously not going to give away the game plan in the press conference! One thing I could highlight is, for example, we concede from set-pieces and that’s something we want to do better tomorrow.”

The head coach hopes to end the year on a high: “It’s something for the team. We have been doing really well and we know it takes hard work to carry this momentum and we have one more game to play tomorrow, we want to give everything tomorrow and the team wants to go and win that game so it’s all about the team.”

Even though the pressure might be high, Slegers is still looking forward to the match: “I’m excited for the game! I think we’ve had so many different challenges as a team. The last two were the cold and surface in Norway and with a very short turnaround, we went to Liverpool, which is always a very hard game as well, another away game. And now, we get to play against Bayern Munich, top of Europe and we see where stand. This is a new challenge that I look forward to.”
