Liverpool return to action tomorrow as they travel to the St Mary’s Stadium to take on Southampton in the quarterfinal of the Carabao Cup.
The Reds were held to a 2-2 draw against Fulham in the Premier League last week and will aim to return to winning ways in the domestic cup as they aim to defend their crown.
Southampton, on the other hand, find themselves in a bit of a pickle as they parted ways with Russell Martin after their 5-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.
Arne Slot has a handful of injury concerns to deal with ahead of the game and with games coming thick and fast across all competitions, he’s likely to rotate his squad heavily for this game.
And one of Liverpool’s brightest prospects could be about to get the biggest chance of his young career at St Mary’s tomorrow.

Slot confirmed that Kostas Tsimikas is back in full training ahead of the game against Southampton, although the Carabao Cup clash comes too soon for the likes of Ibrahima Konate and Conor Bradley.
Diogo Jota is also an injury doubt and with other key players set to be rested with one eye on the Premier League game against Tottenham, a handful of young players could feature tomorrow.
Trey Nyoni was dubbed as ‘special’ by Liverpool fans for his displays in pre-season as he scored in the 4-1 win against Sevilla in August.

The 17-year-old featured for 26 minutes in the Reds’ 3-2 Carabao Cup win against Brighton earlier this season, but tomorrow, he could earn his first start for the club.
With Wataru Endo expected to start and Alexis Mac Allister back in contention after serving his suspension, the stage is set for Nyoni to weave his magic as he’d be playing alongside two experienced campaigners in the centre of the park.
What has Slot said about Nyoni?
Slot has spoken about Nyoni a handful of times this season and has opted to keep the youngster in first-team training.
Ahead of the Carabao Cup game against West Ham – which Liverpool won 5-2 – the Dutchman lauded Nyoni for his talent, although he didn’t go on to feature in the game.

“He’s a young player, a young, young player. He only just became 17, but with a lot of talent and he had an impact in pre-season.
“So he’s a talent, but being a talent is not enough, not enough to play on a regular basis in the first team.
“So we need to keep developing him, he needs playing time to develop. That’s why sometimes as a manager, you feel we might meet him with the first team, but it’s so, so important for him to keep playing his games.
Nyoni was left out of the Liverpool U-21 squad for their game against Crystal Palace yesterday, which is an indication that he is set to feature for the senior team tomorrow.
Whether or not he gets minutes remains to be seen, but the young midfielder is certainly ready to show what he’s capable of if given the opportunity.
