Alexander Isak is back to his best after a slow start to the season for Newcastle United.
The 25-year-old was struggling at the start of the campaign, as the goals failed to flow for Newcastle’s most expensive signing ever.
However, Alexander Isak’s fortunes have changed.
During Newcastle United’s previous nine games in all competitions, the Swede has scored seven goals and provided three assists.
He is absolutely on fire right now, and continued to excel during Newcastle’s 4-0 win over Leicester City. Isak got himself a goal and an assist, as the Magpies continue to re-find their form in the final third.

Troy Deeney says Alexander Isak is the Premier League’s best striker
Isak’s performance has earned him a place in Troy Deeney’s team of the week for BBC Sport, with Jacob Murphy also included.
The former Watford striker is full of praise for Isak, labelling him as the Premier League’s best striker right now.

“The best striker in the Premier League at this moment in time,” he said.
“Yes I’ve said it and yes I stand by it. He’s the complete striker. Unreal. Every time I watch him I keep thinking, how haven’t Arsenal signed him?
“He’s a really good player and finisher. He’s a poacher but he’s also such a silky player. You don’t see many silky poachers.”
Isak to Arsenal chat is so frustrating for Newcastle fans
When it comes to out-and-out strikers in the Premier League, I do not think there is anyone better than Isak right now. He is playing incredibly well at the moment, while Erling Haaland’s form has dipped amid Manchester City’s struggles.
But it is incredibly frustrating that all Deeney can think about when he sees Isak play well is that he should have signed for Arsenal.
This media obsession with Isak playing for the Gunners is getting ridiculous. It feels like every day a different pundit is saying the Sweden international should join Mikel Arteta’s side.
If Arsenal want him, they are going to have to get their chequebook out. Isak is Eddie Howe’s most valuable player, and it will surely cost in excess of £100million to sign him – despite pundits wanting to drive Isak to the Emirates Stadium themselves!
But while Deeney’s Arsenal admission is frustrating, his praise of Isak is completely accurate. He got a poacher’s goal against Leicester, as he continues to prove he can do it all. Tap-ins, headers, screamers – Isak can score any type of goal, and that is why he is one of the best in the world when he is in this kind of form.
