Since Julen Lopetegui’s arrival at West Ham in the summer, he has struggled to get his side going and they have struggled.

As a result, there has been plenty of speculation surrounding the future of the Spaniard at the London Stadium.

The Hammers currently find themselves sitting 14th in the table, seven above the relegation zone.

Despite being unbeaten in two, Lopetegui is still walking a very fine line and he needs to prove he can consistently get his side results to convince supporters of his ability to do the job.

With this in mind, the January transfer window could be big for the East London outfit as they look to strengthen their side in what will be an important remainder of the season.

TBR Football reported that the Irons are one of the sides who have watched Hamza Igamane in action for Rangers this term which could mean they make a move for him.

Hamza Igamane could solve problems at West Ham

Igamane has had a strong season with Rangers since stepping into the starting line-up with six goals in all competitions, including four in the Europa League.

At just 22 -years-old, the striker looks like he has a big future ahead of him and if he made a move to East London, he would no doubt start his Premier League career continuing his great form.

Lopetegui has plenty of work to do to prove that he can be the man to take his side forward and bring success to the London Stadium and this could be the change that provides this.

The Irons are looking for attacking reinforcements with Michail Antonio absent due to injury and Jarrad Bowen having stepped forward to a striker role.

However, Bowen can have more impact on his side when playing as a winger and therefore, it is essential to bring in someone who can play that striker role to allow West Ham to play in the way they want to.

It’s an ambitious signing given there is also reported interest from the likes of Brentford and Newcastle but if Lopetegui could bring Igamane to the London Stadium, it could give the manager what he needs to save his job.

In other West Ham news, the Hammers have set their sights on this star from Germany, according to Fabrizio Romano.
