Arsenal are reportedly targeting Sevilla midfielder Lucien Agoume as a potential replacement for Thomas Partey, whose future at the club remains uncertain with his contract set to expire this summer.
The Gunners failed to capitalise on Liverpool’s dropped points at home to Fulham over the weekend, drawing 0-0 against Everton at the Emirates Stadium. Mikel Arteta’s side will now turn their attention to Wednesday’s Carabao Cup clash against Crystal Palace, which precedes a Premier League rematch with the Eagles later in the week.
Despite their cup commitments, Arsenal’s primary focus remains on challenging for the Premier League title. Behind the scenes, the club is also planning for the future, with midfield reinforcements a priority given Partey’s unclear situation.

According toFootball Transfers, Sevilla’s Lucien Agoume has emerged as a leading candidate. The 22-year-old, currently on loan from Inter Milan, has impressed in La Liga with his hard-working and dynamic displays. Agoume has reportedly drawn comparisons to Paul Pogba due to his physical attributes and technical ability, which has heightened interest from top European clubs, including Barcelona.

The French midfielder has made 15 La Liga appearances this season and is already considered a rising star. Former Sevilla manager Enrique Sanchez Flores praised Agoume’s talent earlier this year, saying: “Lucien is ready, he has an extraordinary physique and a magnificent physical condition. He just needs more time to get familiar with us, but he has all the qualities to succeed.”
With Arsenal scouring the market for midfield options, Agoume’s profile fits Arteta’s requirements for a young, energetic, and technically gifted player to bolster the squad. Should Partey leave at the end of the season, the Sevilla star could prove to be a vital addition as Arsenal look to strengthen their midfield for the challenges ahead.
