Liverpool star’s ‘priority’ for next summer is to join Barcelona

A major claim surrounding the future of Liverpool star Luis Díaz has come to the fore early this week.

This comes amid fresh rumours linking the winger with a move to Spain, with Barcelona.

The name of attacker Díaz of course took its place front and centre in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital throughout this past summer’s transfer window.

As much comes after the 27-year-old was identified as a leading target on the part of Deco and co, amid Barcelona’s search for reinforcements on the left flank.

In the end, no such transfer was forthcoming, with Díaz having since gone on to play a leading role under the watch of new Liverpool boss Arne Slot.

As alluded to above, though, if the latest word doing the rounds in the media on Tuesday is anything to go by, then a Camp Nou switch for the South American could well be on the cards in 2025.

As per a report from **[Diario Sport](https://www.sport.es/es/noticias/barca/luis-diaz-vuelve-radar-barca-112685515)**, citing ‘Antena2’ in Díaz’s home country of Colombia, negotiations to extend Díaz’s Liverpool contract have reached an impasse.

This comes amid the understanding that the former Porto man is angling for a move to none other than Barcelona:

‘The footballer would be about to make a change of scenery with his clear priority playing for Barça,’ it is reported.
