Lewandowski still leads ESM Golden Shoe race despite Barca beating

LONDON: Barcelona may have lost at home at the weekend in LaLiga but that has not affected Robert Lewandowski’s leadership of the ESM European Golden Shoe.

Barcelona’s Poland captain has scored 16 LaLiga goals so far and leads last season’s winner, Harry Kane, and Estonia striker Alex Tamm of Nõmme Kalju. Lewandowski won the Golden Shoe as Kane’s predecessor in leading the Bayern Munich attack in 2021 and 2022.

Marksmen from the Big Five (England, France, Germany, Italy and Spain) benefit from a points multiplier of two. Players in leagues between places six and 22 of the UEFA national ranking 2022 receive a 1.5 coefficient.

As in former years the ranking does not include play-offs or cup matches in the official ranking.
