All the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding Chelsea as they prepare for Conference League action.
Chelsea are now gearing up for a Conference League clash with Shamrock Rovers and a Premier League date with Everton on Sunday. The Blues haven’t yet registered many of their first team stars for the Conference League, but they will likely do so after this game, with the group stage coming to an end.
Enzo Maresca’s men are fully focused on the Premier League, and they are now within two points of Liverpool, in with a chance of going top before Christmas. In the meantime, we have rounded up all the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding Stamford Bridge.
Tzimas links
Chelsea are said to be interested in on-loan Nurnberg striker Stefan Tzimas. The 18-year-old is on loan from PAOK, but Nurnberg are reportedly planning to activate their option to buy, which is worth a touch over £15million.
It’s reported that they then plan to sell the striker for a profit of between £2.5million and £4million next summer. Chelsea are said to be one of the clubs interested in a deal, according to Sky Sports Germany, with Tzimas having scored seven goals in 13 league games during his loan spell so far.
Carragher on Chelsea’s title hopes
Jamie Carragher has issued his verdict on Chelsea’s Premier League title chances as they battle with Liverpool at the top. He told Sky Sports: “I still look at them and I don’t see a title-winning team because of when I look at the goalkeeper and the two centre-backs. I know Liverpool didn’t win the league but if you remember the season under Brendan Rodgers when they came really close and came out of nowhere, nobody expected it, they didn’t have European football.
“I know Chelsea do but they could put their second team out and still win that competition [Conference League]. So in some ways, they haven’t got European football and that is something that does put them in the race.”
Adarabioyo on Chelsea’s start
Chelsea star Tosin Adarabioyo has been speaking as he battles to become a starter at the Bridge. He told the club website: “We take each game as it comes.
“The manager is pushing us every single day to make sure we are doing the right things and preparing for each game. We’ve got top players. When everyone puts in a shift – and against Brentford, we put in an amazing shift off the ball – it’s always good to see. Our next focus now is Shamrock Rovers.”
