Marcus Rashford was sent home from Man United training

Marcus Rashford was sent home from Manchester United training following his omission from the Manchester derby on Sunday, according to reports.

The 27-year-old, who has been with United since he was seven, is considering leaving Old Trafford after being dropped by new manager Ruben Amorim for the match at Etihad Stadium. Both Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho were left out of the squad for Sunday's Manchester derby.

On Monday, Rashford reported to Carrington training ground but was sent home due to a high temperature, as reported by the Daily Mail. On Tuesday, Rashford visited his old primary school where he distributed 420 Christmas presents to local children.

It was there that he told journalist Henry Winter of his apparent desire to leave United. "For me, personally, I'm ready for a new challenge and the next steps," Rashford said. "When I leave it's going to be no hard feelings. You're not going to have any negative comments from me about Manchester United. That's me. I will always be a Red."

Rashford has more than three years left on the lucrative £315,000-a-week contract he penned just last year. With future moves on the horizon, it's uncertain if any club is willing to meet his expectations.

It is thought United might consider bids in the region of £40million for the England forward (reports the Mirror), as Amorim starts to put his stamp on the squad. Discussing his choice to leave Rashford and Garnacho out of the line-up against Manchester City, Amorim explained: "(It was) selection. We try to evaluate everything - training, performance, game performance, engagement with the teammates, push the teammates up.

"Everything is on the line when we analyse and try to choose the players, so it was my selection. Simple. I don't want to send a message (to the dressing room with this). It's simply an evaluation, and they know it."
