Liverpool will face Southampton in the Carabao Cup quarter-final

Liverpool will be hoping to book their place in another cup semi-final when they face Southampton on Wednesday night. The Reds take on the Saints in the Carabao Cup quarter-final at St Mary's as they aim to move a step closer to Wembley Stadium.

Arne Slot's side defeated Brighton back in October in their fourth-round tie and will now take on Southampton as they aim to reach the semi-final. Liverpool go into the game on the back of a draw with Fulham in the Premier League at the weekend and have now drawn their last two top-flight fixtures.

Wednesday's game is one of four quarter-final ties taking place in the Carabao Cup this week, and victory over Southampton would see them move closer to reaching another final. Slot has been enjoying his first season as Liverpool's new head coach and is now just four matches away from winning his first major trophy.
