Barcelona president Joan Laporta says the club are still hoping to return to Camp Nou this season amid speculation that the team’s return could be delayed further.
The original plan had been for Barca to head home at the end of 2024, but [it’s now thought February is a more realistic target date](https://www.barcablaugranes.com/2024/11/20/24300429/barcelona-city-council-confirms-camp-nou-return-scheduled-for-february).
Laporta has offered an update on the situation and hopes to have good news for fans next year.
> “We are making the new Spotify Camp Nou a reality, which continues to advance with some imponderables,” he said.

> “We will not return until the first phase of the Champions League is over, but we are working to have the right conditions.

> “There are moments more glorious than others, but we are working to give good news in 2025. I hope that they come from the Spotify Camp Nou, which is a place for the culés to be happy.”
There has been speculation that Barca may end up having to wait until next season to head back to Camp Nou.
