The January transfer window will be open in just two weeks, and Liverpool will have to decide whether it needs to dip into the market.
Arne Slot’s side is of course in a strong position, leading both the Premier League and Champions League standings, while a place in the Carabao Cup semifinals will be up for grabs at Southampton on Wednesday. Injuries are taking their toll though, which might leave the Liverpool boss needing some reinforcements.
And there are of course the small matters of Virgil van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Mohamed Salah’s contracts still to be settled. The latest reports across Europe see some potential replacements being linked for two of those names though.
Here is the Liverpool.com verdict on the transfer gossip to emerge around the Reds on Wednesday, including news on Jeremie Frimpong and Mohammed Kudus.
Jeremie Frimpong (Bayer Leverkusen)
Frimpong is not a concrete transfer target for Liverpool in the summer, according to Sky Germany's Florian Plettenberg.
The Reds are said to be impressed by the Netherlands international's development at Bayer Leverkusen, although Arne Slot reportedly prefers a traditional right-back in a back four, while Frimpong operates primarily as a wing-back for his current club.
The news comes after it was reported that Liverpool had invited Frimpong's agent to Anfield for the Champions League clash between the two sides last month.

Liverpool.com says: Frimpong is arguably an even more attacking option than Trent Alexander-Arnold at right-back, so you can understand if Slot would prefer a more traditional right-back for his side. That does suggest if the Liverpool vice-captain departs in the summer, then Conor Bradley would be in line to take his place.
The ideal situation is that Alexander-Arnold stays of course, as it would mean Liverpool doesn't need to find any sort of replacement. If he is destined for Real Madrid though, Bradley has shown he is ready to step into the void.
Mohammed Kudus (West Ham)
Liverpool and Arsenal are both keen on signing Kudus, according to Spanish outlet Fichajes.
It's claimed that the Reds have earmarked the West Ham forward as an option to add 'dynamism and depth' to their squad. Arsenal though is said to be looking for a player to complement Bukayo Saka, while Newcastle is also thrown into the mix.
Should Liverpool decide to make a move in January, it could set them back as much as $114m (£90m/€109m).
Liverpool.com says: Kudus has looked like a decent option for a potential long-term heir to Salah, or he could even be a No.9 for Liverpool. That is a hefty price tag, which is to be expected for a forward, and even though he hasn't had a stellar season so far, it wouldn't be a surprise if West Ham asked for more, especially in January.
