Last week, it was reported in Italy that Sandro Tonali could leave Newcastle United as something had broken in the relationship between the club and the midfielder.

The talk about Tonali hasn’t died in Italy at all and Corriere dello Sport‘s front page today carries a big piece of news about the Newcastle United star.

They state that Juventus held a recruitment meeting on Monday. Tonali’s name emerged and he is of serious interest to the Bianconeri and specifically club sporting director Cristiano Guintoli.

This ‘sudden and radical’ turn of events sees Juventus looking to sign the player in the coming weeks.

To sell him, Corriere dello Sport say Newcastle United asre asking for €55m. Juve want to offer that by selling Nicolo Fagioli and Kenan Yildiz and using that money to sign the 24-year-old Tonali.

Manager Thiago Motta wants a player who is in the mould of the ex-AC Milan midfielder. The outlet believes that the Azzurri star’s arrival will make sure Teun Koopmeiners can be played further forward in midfield.

The report mentions that Tonali is facing difficulties in England and would like a return to Italy soon.
