Player set for January return to Wolves – New manager should look to make use of him

Wolverhampton Wanderers allowed Chiquinho to join RCD Mallorca on a season-long loan deal towards the end of the summer window.

The winger made two appearances for the Premier League side before joining the Spanish club.

Onda Cero say Chiquinho could return to Wolves soon as his stay at the La Liga side could be cut short in January.

There was a lot of excitement around his arrival in Spain. Back in September, Marca said Mallorca are rubbing their hands after the 24-year-old impressed everyone at the club.

Pablo Ortells, the Spanish club’s sporting director, had stated there’s an option to make the Wolves owned player’s stay permanent. This is unlikely to be exercised, and he could return to Molineux in the winter market.

Onda Cero’s title says the Wolves man is on ‘exit ramp’ at Mallorca.

Chiquinho has played 140 minutes from seven league matches and has been restricted to 27 minutes for over a month. He hasn’t had a ‘leading role’ at Mallorca so far and that’s unlikely to change.

Mallorca have Robert Navarro, Valery Fernández, Javi Llabrés, Dani Rodríguez and Antonio Sánchez who can operate on the wings. The report states their presence ‘closes the door’ on the Wolves man to feature regularly.

Therefore, Chiquinho’s loan stay would be cut short in January. Given he’s already played for two clubs this season, he’d likely have to stay at Wolves.
