Arsenal FC have dropped many points this season which have pushed them back in title race. They are currently on 3rd position in Premier League with 30 points in 16 games. Now, Mikel Arteta has insisted that they deserved more in recent games.
Gunners are 4 points behind Chelsea and 6 points behind Liverpool who are table toppers. The Reds have one more game in hand and they can increase the gap by 9 points. It seems like Gunners are falling way behind in the title race.
The main problem for Mikel Arteta has been lack of attacking firepower. Gunners do have quality players but most of them are not in form. Martinelli, Trossard, Jesus and Sterling have all been highly inconsistent this season.
Despite the recent results, Mikel Arteta has stayed positive. He recently said that they deserved more in their recent fixtures. Fabrizio Romano tweeted on his X account what Arteta had to say. The Spaniard said that Gunners deserved to win all of their last 6 games by mile.
Arsenal have won 4 out of their last 6 games. The rest 2 ended in draw with the latest game ending in a goalless draw. In contrast to this results, Arteta feels like he could have won all of the 6 games and that too with good goal difference.
What should Arsenal do to improve the results?
It feels like, Gunners desperately need more quality in the final third. They have been often tested to scoring goals this season. In addition, they have been highly dependent on Saka, Havertz and Odegaard.
Gunners should make atleast one or two signing in January if they want to challenge for the title. They could opt to sign someone on loan as a temporary solution to the current problems. As of now, they do need a clinical striker and a high quality winger.
