Despite starting this season on a very strong footing offensively, FC Barcelona are still looking to further strengthen their attack in the coming summer.
For this purpose, they have been linked with several forwards, including the likes of Khicha Kvaratskhelia, Rafael Leao, Nico Williams, Viktor Gyokeres, Jonathan David, etc.
Another player whose name has frequently been linked with the Catalan club in recent weeks is the Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford. One of his recent social media interactions particularly excited Barcelona fans.
Now, according to SPORT, he has made some statements in a recent interview that have set the English media ablaze as he has given some very clear indications that he can leave Manchester United next summer.
Talking to the English journalist Henry Winter, Rashford was quite clear about his future aspirations as he said: “Personally, I believe I am ready for a new challenge and to take the next steps in my career.”
Furthermore, throughout this interview, the English forward talked about his complicated relationship with the Manchester-based side.
Tensions between these two parties are not very surprising as Marcus Rashford is no longer a preferred starter for the new coach Ruben Amorim, and, along with Alejandro Garnacho, he was not even named in the squad for the recent match against Manchester City.
Currently, he has a contract with the Red Devils toll 2028, but at 27 years of age, he seems to be ready to take the next step in his career.
Meanwhile, Barcelona are already alert about his situation, and they believe they can incorporate him into their squad for around €40 million. His latest statements will further increase speculation about his future, as more clubs become interested in taking advantage of his situation at Manchester United.
However, for now, there are no favorites, and it remains to be seen where Rashford will be playing next season.
