According to SPORT, Barca have warned Ronald Araujo and Frenkie De Jong to sign new deals. If the players do not agree new deal, the club is prepared to part ways with both of the stars. Hence, the Blues can now take advantage of this situation.

Araujo is yet to play any game this season due to injury. Despite being only 25 years old, he is highly experienced to play at the top most level. His experience may benefit Chelsea immediately as the Uruguayan will make an instant impact after moving to West London.
Along with Araujo, the Blues are linked with many other big names. Their top target is Benfica defender Tomas Araujo who has been very good recently but has relatively less experience than Barca star.
Before signing one of the defenders, Chelsea should part ways with some of their exisiting stars. As of now, Badiashile, Disasi and Adarabioyo have been linked with away moves whereas Colwill and Fofana are the safest due to being on top in pecking order.
