Arsenal have been linked with a move to sign €60 million-valued Las Palmas midfielder Alberto Moleiro in the summer, as per a report from Fichajes.net. The Gunners are prepared to look towards the transfer market to strengthen their side after falling behind in the Premier League title race.
After successive second-place finishes in the 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons, Mikel Arteta's side find themselves in third place behind Liverpool and Chelsea with nearly half of the season completed. The Gunners have not managed to perform at their best level this season, leading them to need reinforcements in the transfer window.
Fichajes.net reports that Arsenal have an agreement in principle with Las Palmas for the transfer of Spain U-21 international Moleiro in the summer of 2025. The Premier League side are prepared to pay €60 million to sign the midfielder, who will join them at the end of the 2024-25 season.
Moleiro has been compared to fellow Las Palmas academy graduate Pedri but the 21-year-old Spaniard takes on a more attacking role for the Canaries. He has scored four goals in 17 league appearances for his side this season as they sit in 14th place in LaLiga.
The diminutive midfielder is considered to be a good choice by Arteta to provide competition for captain Martin Odegaard in the more advanced midfield role. His ability to play on either flank, as well, will help the manager add tactical variety to the team.
Arsenal keeping tabs on Club Brugge star - Reports
Arsenal are keeping a close eye on Belgium international Maxim De Cuyper ahead of making a move to sign the left-back in January, as per TBR Football. The 23-year-old has been impressive for Club Brugge this season, with one goal and four assists in 24 appearances.
An expert crosser of the ball, De Cuyper will be a potent weapon for Mikel Arteta's side, who make use of their corner kicks to unleash mayhem on their opposition. If placed on corner-kick duties, the left-back will be able to provide deadly crosses to the far post and create chances for the Gunners to score from them.
The Gunners signed Riccardo Calafiori in the summer but the Italian has struggled to stay fit amid a series of injury problems in the first half of the campaign. The emergence of 18-year-old Myles Lewis-Skelly is also not expected to hinder the Gunners' interest in De Cuyper, who is also wanted by Manchester City.
