Club evaluate forgotten Arsenal attacker to cover exit – Already worked out ‘business model’

Brazilian side Internacional have made initial enquiries with Arsenal to sign forward Marquinhos as a replacement for Wesley.

That’s according to [GE Globo](https://ge.globo.com/rs/futebol/times/internacional/noticia/2024/12/17/inter-pensa-em-reposicao-a-wesley-e-faz-consulta-por-atacante-do-arsenal.ghtml) and [UOL](https://www.uol.com.br/esporte/colunas/mercado-da-bola/2024/12/17/internacional-sonda-situacao-do-atacante-marquinhos-ex-fluminense.htm), who both report that the forgotten Arsenal man is being considered by Internacional as a replacement for their striker as he heads to Krasnodar.

The two newspapers report the same thing on the situation today, explaining that with Inter about to agree to the sale of Wesley to the Russian side, they’re already looking for a replacement on the market.

One of the names being considered to reinforce their attack in Marquinhos, who was on loan at Fluminense from Arsenal this season.

They’ve already ‘sought information’ on the player from Arsenal and are evaluating an attack for him in the coming weeks.

A ‘business model’ has already been drawn up, with the Brazilian side wanting a loan deal with a purchase option included at the end of it. Buying the 21-year-old outright has been ruled out as the club’s current financial situation wouldn’t allow it.

Marquinhos had spent this season with Fluminense, but the Rio team will not be activating their own purchase option to get him permanently. This was set at R$50m, around £6.5m.
