The destination for next Barcelona pre-season tour has already been decided

For the last few years, FC Barcelona have been traveling to the United States for their pre-season tours. In the last two years, they have faced some of the other big European clubs, including Real Madrid, AC Milan, and Manchester City, etc. on American soil.

These friendly games have allowed the Catalans to connect more closely with their fans in the USA, while also generating significant revenue and creating opportunities to further strengthen their presence in such a lucrative market for the future.

However, for the next pre-season, the Blaugranes will not be traveling to the USA, as SPORT reports that they have already reached an agreement with a Korean company to hold their next pre-season in Asia.

Thus, they will play four matches in Asia before the start of the next season, in a competition that has been named “The Tournament”, while the possibility of another 5th friendly is also being contemplated between the Korean company and Barcelona.

Two of these four matches are expected to be played in Japan, while the other two will be played in South Korea. However, the distribution of these matches is not yet closed, and there can be changes in this regard.

No other teams for this friendly competition have yet been finalized, but it is believed that one of the opponents that Barcelona will face will be a selection of stars from the Korean League.

Another big European club that can be a part of this competition is Liverpool, as neither Barcelona nor Liverpool are participating in the newly formatted FIFA Club World Cup that is going to be held in the USA next summer.

The fact that this competition is being held in the USA has also been key for Barcelona to select Asia as their destination for their next pre-season tour.

In addition to these four matches, the possibility of a fifth friendly in Asia will depend on Barcelona’s journey in the UEFA Champions League. If the Blaugranes are able to reach the UCL final, it would be very difficult for them to play this fifth friendly that is going to be scheduled before 30th May.
