Arsenal are weighing up the possibility of making a move for Leeds United goalkeeper Illan Meslier in January, according to Steve Kay via TBR.
Kay said on KS1 TV (18 January) that the Gunners could look to make a move for a goalkeeper in January and Meslier could be under consideration despite his poor performances this season.
The Frenchman has been tipped for a January exit with Stade Rennais also keen on signing him. according to Jeunesfooteux.
Kay reiterated the links didn’t come from one of his top sources but the interest is one that they are “keeping an eye on”.
Leeds United need to cash in on Illan Meslier
Meslier has been the reason behind several dropped points for the Whites this season with Sunderland and Preston just two of those occasions.

The Frenchman, 24, has severely struggled for form and has actually been one of the worst-performing ‘keepers in the Championship in terms of his save percentage and goals prevented.
If Daniel Farke’s side are to get promoted this season, a strong foundation is imperative and they don’t have that at the moment with a very shaky Meslier between the sticks and that often unsettles the side in front of him.

It’s highly unlikely the Whites could receive a particularly high fee for their ‘keeper with Dan Bardell earmarking a £10 million sale if the title chasers do cash in.
Whether a January exit materialises, it is hard to envisage much of a future for Meslier at Elland Road beyond the coming months and it is simply a position that needs to be improved.
