Juventus are planning to make a move for Arsenal star in January. The Arsenal star in question is unhappy with the lack of game time this season. On the other hand, Juve are desperate to sign a player in that position due to injury struggles.
The Arsenal star in question here is Jakub Kiwior. Kiwior has been a key asset for Mikel Arteta but is way behind in pecking order. The Spanish coach uses the Poland international only when his main defender are absent.
This season, Kiwior has once again played a key role for Gunners. He has played 13 games out of 8 were in Premier League. But, the 24 year old has started in only 2 of those 8 league games. His both starts came when Gabriel was injured.
Earlier, Saliba also missed one game due to suspension. But at that time, Arteta used Calafiori to play as centre back instead of Kiwior. This suggests that the Poland international is way behind in the pecking order.
The current situation has been resulted in Kiwior wanting a move away from the Emirates. Earlier, Napoli submitted a bid which was quickly turned down by Gunners. But now, the player may force the club to allow his move away from North London.
Juventus keen to sign Arsenal star Jakub Kiwior
As per Tuttosport, Juve has shown interest in signing Kiwior this january. They are in desperate need to sign defender due to current situation. Bremer and Cabal who are key players will miss the rest of the season due to serious injury.
Kiwior already had experience of playing in Italy. This will excite him to join Juve in a hope to play in familiar environment. Kiwior will have more chances to play regularly at Juve which is very important for him especially at this stage of career.
Arsenal already have a good squad depth and are very strong at back. However, they will still miss Kiwior who was quality backup. The Poland international always provided quality results as a centre back and as a left back too.
Gunners will likely demand around €25 million for Kiwior. It will be interesting to see if Juve see this as a fair price. They may also opt to sign the player on loan in winter before making a permanent move in summer.
