Arsenal star out of Crystal Palace game tonight after injury–Insider

Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice is set to miss the Carabao Cup quarter-final against Crystal Palace tonight following further assessment from manager Mikel Arteta on his recent knock, according to former Sky Sports producer Connor Humm.

Humm, who regularly breaks news on Arsenal and is followed on X (formerly Twitter) by the likes of Dharmesh Sheth, Ryan Taylor and Fabrizio Romano shared the update this afternoon, claiming the England international is now out of the game.

Rice was withdrawn in the 62nd minute during the goalless against Everton on Saturday following a knock, and the Gunners have decided to rest him tonight.

Understand that Declan Rice is set to miss the game tonight after further assessment from Mikel Arteta after the boss said he was fine after going off with an issue against Everton.

A well earned rest we hope!

Arsenal return to Premier League action on Saturday with a trip to Selhurst Park to face Palace, and Arteta will hope Rice is available to return to action by then.

Plenty of fringe players are expected to get a chance tonight, and the midfielder would not have been expected to start were he fit.

While the Gunners boss is set to ring the changes tonight, some senior players will be in the line-up and on the bench as Arsenal would love to advance to the semi-finals.

This season ending without silverware will be widely regarded as a failure for the North Londoners, and the Carabao Cup is an opportunity for them to add more silverware to their trophy cabinet.

The likes of Raheem Sterling and Ethan Nwaneri are likely to start tonight, and they will both be desperate to grab the chance and show Arteta they deserve to play more.

Arsenal are favourites against the Eagles at Emirates Stadium, but they cannot afford to underestimate the visitors after dropping points in their last two Premier League games.
