The great tradition at Chelsea of bringing through youngsters from the academy to the senior group is continuing this season.
Chelsea’s academy has been a constant production line of superb youngsters in recent times, something which is showing no signs of slowing down.
Josh Acheampong, 18, is one of the current emerging talents for the Blues. In fact, the teenage defender officially signed a new long-term contract at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday.
Chelsea believe Acheampong’s new deal is a statement of intent after tying down one of their best rising stars.

Enzo Maresca confirms young Chelsea duo are regulars in senior training
Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has confirmed that Acheampong is now an ever-present in his senior training sessions. On top of that, Blues prospect Tyrique George is also mixing it with the first team at Cobham on a daily basis.
“For sure, Tyrique is going to get minutes. We are going to try help him to improve day by day because he’s working with us every day, him and Josh (Acheampong), to allow them to get minutes with us in the Premier League,” Maresca said via Chelsea’s official YouTube channel.
George is another exciting talent to come through the youth system at Chelsea. So far this season, he’s played a mixture of games for both the Under-21s and the first team.
The 18-year-old winger has already made seven senior appearances already this campaign, which has included a couple of starts in the Conference League group phase.

Tyrique George should start vs Shamrock Rovers
It feels like another great opportunity for George to show his quality and potential when Chelsea host Shamrock Rovers on Thursday night in their final group match of the Conference League.
The teenage winger has shown flashes of brilliance so far in the first team, but he’s got zero goals and zero assists in seven appearances.
Chelsea’s Romeo Lavia praised George earlier in the season, so it’s great to see the young talent making his mark with the seniors. Now, he just needs that first goal to really announce himself.
