Chelsea were dealt a seriously bad hand when it came to their most recent away game in the Conference League group stage.
The Blues travelled to Kazakhstan to take on Astana in below-freezing conditions, with them running out 3-1 winners.
Enzo Maresca took no risks with his squad selection for that game, with hardly any first team players making the trip to the game.

Enzo Maresca writes letter to thank Chelsea fans
Only really Pedro Neto was able to show his class, and even he was replaced at half-time for more academy graduates.
The weakened side and freezing conditions didn’t dampen the spirits of the ever-brilliant travelling Chelsea fans, some of whom have attended every game the Blues have played this season.
Their efforts to travel to the other side of the continent to support their side has not gone unnoticed by those at Chelsea, including Maresca.
According to Nizaar Kinsella, the boss has helped pen a letter to those who were in attendance to thank them for their efforts to back the team.
He said: “Enzo Maresca and the sporting directors Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart have written a letter to all fans who travelled to Astana to thank them. It was a long, long journey for those hardcore fans to South Kazakhstan.”

Chelsea fans were loudly chanting Maresca’s name in the win over Southampton, acknowledged by the manager at the time.
The Italian is going into a busy schedule as the festive period comes around, but there is a real confidence amongst supporters that every game is going to end in three points right now.
