Julen Lopetegui will be in the dugout when West Ham face Brighton despite the death of his father on Tuesday, according to West Ham Football.
The Hammers boss’ pre-Seagulls press conference on Thursday (18 December) was rearranged for Friday (19 December) as he has returned to Spain following the devastating news.
However, the report claims that he is expected to return to take charge of the Irons on Saturday (20 December) at the London Stadium as they seek to move closer to the European qualification spots.
West Ham need to support Lopetegui
The Hammers need to support their manager in this hard time as he battles to keep his job.
The Spaniard has been under intense scrutiny in recent weeks after embarrassing defeats to title-chasing Arsenal and newly-promoted Leicester.

However, he has seemingly turned a corner with positive results in the last two matches, a win against relegation strugglers Wolves and a draw with Bournemouth, who are sixth in the Premier League, just two points behind Manchester City.

He seemingly has the support of the players with Lucas Paqueta running to celebrate with him after scoring his penalty in the draw with the Cherries.
Now it is time for supporters and the board to unite behind the Spaniard and build a positive relationship that can only help the club going forward.
The Hammers are only six points off the European qualification places despite sitting 14th in the league and have a seven-point buffer on the relegation zone.
In other West Ham news, Thierry Henry has given his verdict on Lopetegui’s future at the London stadium.
