Arsenal are reportedly not confident about Neto and are looking to sign a new goalkeeper in January. The Gunners are keeping tabs on several targets and will make the move if they find the right option.
Speaking on KS1TV, Steve Kay said that Neto has not impressed Mikel Arteta and will not be getting his loan move permanent. He added that the Brazilian could be replaced in January if the Gunners find the right replacement. He said (via TBR Football):
“Arsenal are looking. From what I’m hearing Arsenal aren’t really confident in playing Neto. I think if a goalkeeper does become available and they can get one in January it wouldn’t surprise me. What I’m hearing is that they’re not 100% confident in Neto in training, an interesting one."

The Gunners signed Neto on loan from Bournemouth in the summer after Aaron Ramsdale moved to Southampton on a permanent deal. They signed the goalkeeper as the backup to David Raya, who they signed in the summer after a successful loan from Brentford.
Arsenal director made bold claims about Neto in the summer
Arsenal Sporting Director Edu spoke to the club website earlier in the season and claimed that they were signing Neto to push David Raya. He said that they liked the Brazilian's experience in the Premier League and told the club's website:
“So when you see the goalkeeper unit, we planned to have someone with experience there. Because if you see now David Raya is now our number one in that situation, Neto can come with that experience of the Premier League. He was the captain of Bournemouth and he has different experience outside of here as well, in the Champions League."
“And also we have a third goalkeeper who’s come to the academy we’ve just bought [Tommy Setford]. So I think the group of the goalkeepers, to have David, to have someone with experience in front of the academy, makes a lot of sense as well. So we are so confident to have Neto here, I’ve known him quite well for a long time and he can add a lot to the squad.”
Edu is set to leave the Gunners and is currently on his six-month notice period. Jason Ayto has replaced him on an interim basis until they appoint a new Sporting Director.
