While Cole Palmer is widely recognised as the outstanding individual at Stamford Bridge, Jason Cundy thinks his Chelsea teammate is even more important than him to the current team.
The Chelsea squad is in a really strong position right now, which is why the club is second in the Premier League and top of the Conference League group phase.
Yet again, Cole Palmer is enjoying himself this year as a Blues player. The 22-year-old’s second season at Stamford Bridge is turning out to be just as impactful as last year’s debut campaign.
In 16 Premier League appearances this season, Palmer has scored 11 goals and created six assists. It’s a credit to Enzo Maresca that he’s allowing the attacking playmaker to thrive in the No.10 position.
Premier League clubs view Palmer as a reason why Chelsea may win the title after emerging as unlikely challengers this season.

Jason Cundy says Moises Caicedo is more important to Chelsea than Cole Palmer
TalkSPORT pundit Jason Cundy has made the bold claim that Moises Caicedo is currently even more important to Chelsea than Palmer.
While Palmer gets the headlines as the team’s chief attacker, Caicedo is behind him in central midfield, making a huge impact on and off the ball.
Cundy told talkSPORT: “I’ve been talking about Caicedo for a while now. This boy is the midfielder in the country right now.

“I think he’s our most important player. People will argue [Cole] Palmer, I get that and understand that. I think he’s our most important player because there’s so much he can do and does do…
“We’ve not seen the likes in the middle of the park winning the ball like that since [N’Golo] Kante. I’m not just talking about Chelsea, I’m talking about in the league…
“I’ve never seen in all the years I’ve watched football a midfielder win the ball back so many times in so many different areas of the pitch as N’Golo Kante. It was a unique skill that he managed to do, whether it be the edge of our box or up high on their box… Caicedo has shades of that. The way that he anticipates and snaps into tackles.”
Caicedo, 23, is without a doubt enjoying a remarkable individual campaign himself so far.
Craig Burley claims Chelsea’s Caicedo is “amazing” out of possession, which is where he’s so effective with tackles and interceptions. On top of that, he’s got superb technical ability when he’s got the ball at his feet as well.
Caicedo is the Premier League’s highest rated central midfielder this season, something that’ll come as no surprise to Blues supporters.
Two Chelsea players they can’t do without
Whether you consider Caicedo or Palmer to be Chelsea’s most influential player this season, everyone should agree that they’re the two players that they can’t live without.
So far this season, Caicedo and Palmer are the only Chelsea players to start every single match in the Premier League.
In general, Maresca has a deep squad and can shuffle his pack quite easily. However, Caicedo and Palmer look a class above in everything they do right now on the football pitch.
Caicedo says he loves playing alongside Palmer in Chelsea’s XI. Well, together the pair are leading the way for a side that’s exceeding expectations this season.
