'Joy to watch': David Prutton thinks PL boss will be livid at losing 'fantastic' player to…

Nottingham Forest beat Aston Villa on Saturday evening and as the fireworks went off behind the Main Stand, the Reds moved to fourth place in the Premier League.

The fireworks are commonplace on Trentside after a win with local restaurant Eva’s Grill often renowned for rattling opposition supporters.

Forest won courtesy of goals from Nikola Milenkovic and Anthony Elanga who received praise from Theo Walcott afterwards.

Nuno Espirito Santo isn’t being laughed at anymore. He was ridiculed at Tottenham and Gabriele Marcotti has apologised to the Forest head coach.

There were a number of top performers on the night and Forest look to be making great strides in the Premier League during the 2024/25 campaign.

David Prutton wowed by Forest star Elliot Anderson

The Reds were outstanding in the closing stages against Villa and competed throughout against a team that plays Champions League football.

Gary Neville thinks Anderson has been brilliant for Forest and he was once again in fine form at the weekend.

Prutton believes that Newcastle boss Eddie Howe will be kicking himself that he had to let him leave during the summer transfer window.

Their loss is the gain of Forest, however, and the attacking midfielder looks like a solid piece of business by the Reds.

Prutton told the Forest Focus podcast: “The thing with Elliot, he’s a player who had to leave a club for financial reasons and he’s come to a Forest side very much looking at potentially as what Newcastle have done for a template. Eddie Howe is probably sitting there thinking that PSR has killed him there.

“Now, he’s playing really well and he’s developing into a fantastic player. He’s got so many strings to his bow and he really is a joy to watch.”

Anderson is arguably Forest’s best signing

Okay, so Nikola Milenkovic might have something to say about this but Anderson has bags of potential.

The Serbian captain has signed at his peak and that is great but Anderson could prove to be the real win from the summer transfer market.

The 22-year-old is exceptional in possession of the ball and he’s also not afraid to get involved with the defensive side of things either.

Anderson is already a regular in Espirito Santo’s team and has made 16 appearances this season in all competitions.

Jamie Redknapp raved about Anderson in the aftermath of the win over Villa and it will be fascinating to see what more is to come from the youngster in the years to come.
