Leicester City have a huge meeting coming up against Wolverhampton Wanderers this weekend.
Ruud van Nistelrooy took charge of his first game as Leicester City boss on December 3rd.
The Foxes came away with a 3-1 win on the day, much to the delight of the Foxes faithful.
This was followed by a very respectable draw against a Brighton and Hove Albion side aiming to secure some form of European football for the 2025/26 season.
However, Van Nistelrooy and co. were brought firmly back down to earth when Leicester lost 4-0 to Newcastle United this past weekend.
That result means the Midlands outfit go into the latest round of fixtures 17th in the Premier League table and now only two points above the relegation zone with a worse goal difference than 18th-place Ipswich Town.
With Wolves currently five points adrift of Leicester, Sunday’s meeting is very much a six-point for both teams in their quest to avoid the drop.

Leicester City’s Mads Hermansen outperforming every Premier League goalkeeper
In turn, Van Nistelrooy could have really done with Mads Hermansen being fit and available for the clash.
Leicester signed the goalkeeper from Danish side Brondby for £6.5m in the summer of 2023, as per Leicestershire Live.
He has started all 16 of the club’s Premier League matches this season and it has now been revealed that he is leading the top flight in one very impressive stat.
As per Squawka, Hermansen has prevented more goals than any other shot-stopper in the English top division so far this campaign with a total of 6.44.
Crystal Palace’s Dean Henderson takes second place on the list with 4.94 prevented but no keeper has come close to being as crucial as the Dane.
Mads Hermansen injury update before Leicester City vs Wolves
However, Ruud will likely have to make do without his number one when Wolves come to town on Sunday.
Hermansen suffered a groin injury in the aforementioned loss to Newcastle in the previous round of Premier League games.
As a result, he is now unlikely to feature for Leicester in their huge relegation scrap this weekend.
Van Nistelrooy could use the free-agent market to replace Hermansen if he is out for a long period of time.
But fans are no doubt praying the goalkeeper’s absence is a short one, especially with tough matches against Liverpool and Manchester City coming up.
