The Friedkin Group’s takeover of Everton is a “done deal”, according to Paul Brown.

The freelance journalist, who has written for Josimar and previously The Express, reported via his personal X account on Wednesday (18 December) that “multiple sources” have told him TFG have successfully bought Farhad Moshiri out of Goodison Park.

Brown adds that something is also going on with A-Cap and 777 Partners, who previously tried and failed to buy the Blues before TFG.

Genoa, who were owned by 777, announced on Wednesday they have new owners and it is understood that there has been no objection raised by Leadenhall in their court case against them.

Everton takeover all but done with official announcement to come

It’s been some day for Evertonians.

Not only have TFG completed their takeover – with all but an official announcement remaining – but 777 are having their backsides handed to them with Genoa finding new owners of their own.

MORE TOFFEES STORIES

If 777 managed to buy Everton from Moshiri, all hell would have broken loose.

The biggest crime was that they never were going to successfully buy the Blues, making Moshiri’s decision to agree a deal with them and take loans from them all the more bizarre.

Multiple sources now claiming Everton takeover by Friedkin group is a done deal. And Genoa today announcing new ownership. No objection yet raised by Leadenhall in US Court to either transaction. Definitely something going on in A-CAP/777 world.

Thankfully, with TFG writing off a whole heap of debt, all of that will be a thing of the past and Everton can start building towards a positive future at their new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock without the grey clouds of Moshiri, 777 and A-Cap circling above them.

It’ll be interesting to see what happens in January but the best thing for TFG to do is to try and remain as consistent as possible and not be drawn into an instant overhaul.
