It is often difficult for new players to emerge as regulars at FC Barcelona unless there is a defined pedigree in question. Even then, it is a rather tall hurdle for any player to overcome once they make their way to the club. After all, demands and expectations at Barcelona are unlike anything else.
That is why, at times, players can look to make temporary moves to other clubs. Such decisions can help them better evaluate what they want from their career and simultaneously provide them with a better platform to get consistent playing time and a more reliable way to improve their individual value.
For 23-year-old Barcelona forward Pau Victor, such an option could line itself up. According to SPORT, La Liga outfit Real Betis is interested in acquiring the young forward’s services in January through a potential loan deal if it is feasible.
Due to their own financial constraints, the Andalusian club cannot afford to pursue the player unless it is through such a loan deal. However, Barcelona are reportedly not keen on letting go of Pau Victor and instead believe that he could be beneficial to Hansi Flick moving forward.
As for Betis, he is a player who is appreciated by the Andalusian side due to his versatility and finishing ability. Moreover, the fact that he continues to compete against the very best forwards at Barcelona means that his participation has been quite limited this season, and Betis hopes to use that argument to lure him in.
Barcelona, on the other hand, is aware of the case that the player has made for himself by delivering efficiency despite a lack of minutes. Still, the Catalan giants would be open to letting him leave if he is the one who pushes for such a move.

Interestingly, however, SPORT claims that the player is currently not interested in making such a move and that a departure to Real Betis is currently unlikely. Both Barcelona and Pau Victor would only be willing to part ways if the other party pushes for it, and neither are looking likely to do that during the January transfer window.
