Farhad Moshiri’s exit has been long-awaited by the Everton fans and they are about to finally get their wish.

The British-Iranian billionaire has been majority owner at Goodison Park since January 2022, having arrived on Merseyside as a minority owner six years prior.

By no means has Moshiri been a popular figure amongst the passionate fanbase, especially when it comes to the actual running of the club, and supporters have been calling for his exit for a while.

The 69-year-old certainly faced a lot of criticism last season as the Toffees faced two separate points deductions from the Premier League, and rightly so.

However, the dark days finally look to be passing as the Friedkin Group edge ever-closer to completing their takeover, with Goodison News learning that it is subject to just one more thing.

MORE TOFFEES STORIES

Despite this, Moshiri’s impact is still being felt as he begins his first steps out of the exit door due to the actual sale of the club to the Friedkins.

The Esk has claimed that the current owner could receive between £25million and £50million from the sale of his shares, which would suggest a drop in share price from £3,400 to between £196 and £392.

Shares traded for £3,400 as recently as 29 November 2024 but that price seems to have dropped significantly ahead of the Friedkin’s takeover, which is set to be completed this month [Alan Myers].

It should really come as no surprise as the Toffees continue to struggle on the pitch, with so much debt still evident behind the scenes at Goodison Park.

Dan Friedkin will likely be greeted with a horror film setting behind the scenes when it comes to the club’s finances, and the Toffees only have Moshiri to thank for that.
