Report: One in, one out in January as West Ham agree to let 22-yo leave and make £25m striker…

West Ham United are already in talks regarding a potential incoming and outgoing in January it seems.

Julen Lopetegui is a man under real pressure at West Ham right now, and he’s only one or two bad results away from being sacked.

However, if he manages to safely navigate the next few fixtures, he will still be in charge by the time the January transfer window rolls around.

And a lot of work needs to be done in the window.

West Ham need to strengthen the squad significantly, and there is plenty of deadwood that needs moving on as well.

And it seems like the Hammers are very active indeed, with only a couple of weeks to go until the transfer window opens.

One in one out at West Ham in January

There is expected to be plenty of activity in the transfer market at the London Stadium this winter.

Lopetegui is clearly looking to bolster his centre-forward ranks after the awful injury Michail Antonio sustained in a car accident 11 days ago.

However, it seems as though the Hammers boss is keen to move one player on as well.

MORE WEST HAM STORIES

So according to Trivela, the Hammers have agreed to let Luizao leave on loan, with Clube Atlético Mineiro in talks to sign him.

Meanwhile, Soutimao claim that West Ham have made a £25 million bid for Yuri Alberto.

However, that bid has apparently been rejected.

So it could be one in and one out at the London Stadium in January.

Personally, I would like us to sign at least two players this winter, preferably three.

Lopetegui needs to sign a top-class striker, a powerful central midfield ball-carrier and another centre-back, if we are to compete on all fronts.

Whether he will still be in charge of the Hammers remains to be seen though. And more to the point, it’s certainly not guaranteed that the board will back him to the hilt in the market if he is still at the club.

What is clear is that West Ham head coach Lopetegtui has identified the signing of a new striker as his priority in January.

And it’s obvious that Luizao has been made surplus to requirements as well.
