In an exclusive interview with RMTV, following Real Madrid’s 3-0 victory over CF Pachuca to lift the FIFA Intercontinental Cup 2024, club president Florentino Perez expressed his delight at the victory and shared his thoughts on the season ahead.
Kylian Mbappe, Rodrygo Goes, and Vinicius Jr. were on target for Real Madrid at the Lusail Stadium in Qatar, firing them to their second trophy of the season, which left Perez very happy.
The Merengues president expressed his satisfaction with the win, stating, “I am very pleased, it is a world champion title, and it is the ninth time we have won it. It is a beautiful title, and we are very excited to win it.”
Looking back at how successful the year 2024 has been for the team and looking ahead to the rest of the season, the president said: “It is difficult to match, but we will fight to keep winning titles.
“We have started this season with two titles, and we will see how many more we can win, including La Liga, the Champions League, and perhaps others.”

Reflecting on the key to the club’s success, Perez highlighted the importance of having a strong team, remarking:
“Having a good team is the most important thing. It is what I have tried to do throughout all these years, and the truth is we have won many titles and we have the ambition to continue winning them.”
Perez also took the opportunity to acknowledge the global support for the club, adding:
“This is the result of many years of work, from many people, and the entire world is full of Madridistas . It is a satisfaction and a responsibility, and I will continue working to bring them these joys.”
