David Moyes has encouraged West Ham to give Julen Lopetegui more time to turn things around.
Since Lopetegui’s arrival in the summer, the Hammers have struggled to get going this season and as a result, there have been plenty of conversations surrounding the Spaniard’s future at the London Stadium.
Their form seems to be inconsistent now as they are unbeaten in three of their last five games but with seven points between themselves and relegation and six points between them and the six, it’s a season that could go either way.
David Sullivan seems to be in favour of keeping the 58-year-old for now, although there have been conversations about managers behind the scenes with David Moyes having been linked with a return to the club.
However, the former boss believes the current set-up needs more time as he told Sky Sports News: “I watch West Ham all the time. Look, they’ve got a great group of players, a fabulous squad of players, lots of really talented players and I think they need to make sure they give everyone time, give the manager time to settle in there.

“But overall you know, the league is difficult, the Premier League at the moment is so hard for, you know some of the teams that are doing so well this year are making it tough.
“But look, they’re beginning to pick up, they’re beginning to get some results West Ham so let’s hope that continues.”
David Moyes backs Julen Lopetegui at West Ham
After Lopetegui’s replacement of Moyes at the London Stadium in the summer, supporters have been left underwhelmed by the direction the club have gone in since then.
There is no escaping the fact that the Hammers have been on the wrong end of some terrible results and haven’t seen much improvement in their performances either.
However, some good results in the mix from their recent games have put the Irons in a decent position pointwise as they look up the table.
With this in mind, the upcoming games for the East London outfit could well make-or-break the club and the manager’s campaign meaning some wins are crucial to make sure progression is being made in the right direction.
The Scotsman seems to be backing his successor at the London Stadium and he knows the level of talent within the squad. However, it is now up to Lopetegui to make sure he can bring this out on a regular basis.
