West Ham are keeping a close eye on Rangers forward Hamza Igamane but face competition from multiple Premier League and European sides, according to Mountakhab.

The Moroccan outlet reported on 18 December that the 22-year-old is of interest to the Hammers after a string of positive performances this season.

There are several sides interested in his profile as the January transfer window approaches with Newcastle United and Everton looking into the Morocco Under-23 international.

The interest is just as strong in Europe with Lille, Atalanta and Bayer Leverkusen potentially set to table a bid to the Gers who are “struggling financially”.

The versatile forward has begun to impose himself on the Light Blues after a slow start to life at Ibrox at the start of the campaign, similarly to Niclas Fullkrug at the London Stadium.

Igamane moved to the Scottish Premiership side from FAR Rabat in Morocco so was always going to take time to acclimatise to a new country.

It is safe to say that the young striker has started to flourish under Philippe Clement with five goals in his last six games in all competitions.

The Gers attacker’s profile could prove to be a point of difference in the Hammers’ squad, given his combination of physicality and technical ability.

It is unclear how much the 55-time Scottish league winners would demand in terms of transfer fee for the Moroccan but there are upsides to the deal.

This signing be useful as Julen Lopetegui looks to deal with the absence of Michail Antonio after his recent car accident.
