“No Deal” | Hammers Dodging A Massive £40 Million – Bullet

Common sense is a rare commodity in Professional football. Especially at West Ham United.

We won’t regale the mistakes with [Jhon Duran](https://www.claretandhugh.info/forget-villa-and-durans-45-million-what-about-the-missing-826/) and surrogate [Niclas Fullkrug](https://www.claretandhugh.info/writing-on-the-wall-for-fullkrug-as-hammers-eye-big-money-striker/) that beset the club this summer. Everyone makes mistakes.

But it would seem that common sense is prevailing again in East London. The penny seems to have dropped and West Ham are reported ‘not to be interested’ in taking the possibility of signing Marcus Rashford on loan from Manchester United.

Apart from the financials (and I’ll come onto them in a moment), why would West Ham want to take on the dodgy motivation of a player who is clearly tarnished and may never return to the young, fast, motivated explosive footballer of five years ago?

Rashford – apart from the £40 million transfer fee – would apparently command -ahem – £15 to £20 million a year as a salary. Excuse me – _three hundred thousand pounds_ a week which is double what our highest paid player receives?

For a Manchester United reject?

And you think we have dressing room strife now? In Gonzo’s words ‘you ain’t seen nothing yet’.

No Chance.
