Liverpool booked their place in the semi-final of the Carabao Cup with a victory over Southampton. The Reds recorded a 2-1 win on the south coast against the Saints to join Arsenal and Newcastle in the final four of the competition.
Arne Slot was forced to watch the game from the stands after being handed a touchline ban, with assistant manager Sipke Hulshoff in the dugout at St Mary's. Darwin Nunez and Harvey Elliott scored the decisive goals for Liverpool in the first half to secure the win and passage to the semi-final.
Now, Liverpool will look ahead to their return to Premier League action this weekend when they travel to face Tottenham Hotspur. The Reds will look ahead to the first leg of the semi-final in early January, with the draw set to take place on Thursday night.
