Juventus Strike Verbal Agreement with Top Defensive Target

Feyenoord defender David Hancko has reportedly agreed to join Serie A giants Juventus in the upcoming transfer window. According to Tuttosport, the former Fiorentina flop hasreached a verbal agreement with theBianconeri to return to Italian football this winter.

Juventus have offered the Slovakia international a long-term contract worth around €2.5 million net per season. Thiago Motta’s men have long tracked Paris Saint-Germain outcast Milan Skriniar. However, they’ve recently changed their mind.

Instead of splashing out a fortune on Skriniar’s salary, Juventus have placed his countryman at the top of their shopping list. Negotiations with the player have progressed smoothly, handing the Turin powerhouse a decisive boost ahead of winter talks with Feyenoord.

It’s now up to Juventus to come to terms with the Dutch outfit. But it won’t be plain sailing by any stretch of the imagination. Indeed, Feyenoord will reportedly go above and beyond to keep hold of the 27-year-old.

They’re reluctant to lose their first-team stalwart midway through the campaign. As such, they’ll demand at least €35m to sanction Hancko’s departure.

Meanwhile, Juventusremain confident about getting the deal over the line. Cristiano Giuntoli understands the importance of landing a top-class center-back in January after Motta lost Gleison Bremer and Juan Cabal to season-ending injuries.

If things go south, Juventus could intensify their pursuit of Benfica starlet Antonio Silva. The 21-year-old’s entourage, Jorge Mendes, is willing to help the Italians sign his client and will arrive in Turin this week to discuss a move with Giuntoli.
