The best thing about the rumours heading up into the January window is that without any exception, the players being linked with [West Ham](https://www.claretandhugh.info/attacking-midfield-upgrade-double-bubble-for-west-ham/) are all young and pacy players. _Finally_ it seems, six months too late, that someone has told the recruitment division at London stadium to bring in some serious pace and youth!
Nowhere are West Ham more needing that pace than in midfield; Early season especially, the limited mobility of Rodriguez, Alvarez and Soucek was found out as teams ran straight through. The outcry seems to have made a difference as Rodriguez hasn’t been starting lately but re-inforcement is needed.
Hence the link again yesterday with Chelsea’s _Carney Chukwuemeka_. Well I remember the interest that West Ham showed in him right up until the club signed Carlos Soler on deadline day.
The 21 year old attacking midfielder would be an absolute breath of fresh air in the Hammers squad and there are now efforts afoot to bring him into the club on – loan in January.
