Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing a winger in the winter with four players wish-listed
Tottenham Hotspur have had an almost unprecedented injury crisis in the ongoing campaign with a number of absentees in every department since the start of the season largely contributing to the team’s poor results of late and their delicate standing in the Premier League table. And while much of the blame for that goes to Daniel Levy, a rebuild is the need of the hour.
Transfer News: Ange Postecoglou reveals key Tottenham position he is keen to reinforce in 2025.
The out-wide positions in the offensive third have not been immune to their series of problems with Brennan Johnson the only player really performing in line with expectations. Son Heung-min’s form as well as fitness have both been a real cause for concern over the last three or four months while Timo Werner’s inconsistencies finally saw Ange Postecoglou lose his patience in him last week.
A permanent transfer for the former Chelsea forward is becoming an increasingly unlikely prospect upon the conclusion of his loan at the end of 2024/25, whereas there has been some talk of a premature termination of the deal in January itself. On a related note, Richarlison and Wilson Odobert have also been injured for a long duration with the Brazilian’s future at Tottenham also uncertain.

With that said, the club’s hierarchy has not ruled out investing on a fresh face in the January transfer window with GiveMeSport claiming that there is a four-man shortlist that is being considered. Club Brugge’s Andreas Skov Olsen, Midtjylland’s Dario Osorio, Olympique Lyon’s Rayan Cherki and Real Valladolid’s Raul Moro have all been linked with the club, consequent to their planned revamp.
More Tottenham Hotspur News:
Each of the aforementioned players will come at a reasonable transfer fee and there is not going to be much of a difficulty in landing either player, while the versatile characteristics of Cherki and Moro in particular will appeal to the Lilywhites. A swoop in the winter will be a particularly easy prospect in Cherki’s case following Lyon’s provisional relegation to Ligue 2 and it will be interesting to see if Spurs take advantage of the French side’s situation to broker a relatively easy deal for the 21-year-old prodigy.
