Vinicius Jr has had an eventful and rewarding week in Doha. After claiming the prestigious ‘The Best’ award, he had a moment to move past the disappointment of missing out on the Ballon d’Or.
To add to his triumphs, the Brazilian forward was also named the best player in the final of the Intercontinental Cup, where Real Madrid came out victorious.
However, despite his recent success, Vinicius faces a break from action, as Real Madrid’s upcoming fixtures will see him sidelined.
The team’s final match of the year is on December 22, where they will face Sevilla at the Santiago Bernabeu. Unfortunately, Vinicius will not be part of that game due to an accumulation of yellow cards, meaning his last match for 2024 has already passed.
So what now for Vinicius?
It is to be noted that Carlo Ancelotti provided clarity on Vinicius’s upcoming schedule. The manager confirmed that the player would return to the team for training but would be granted a break starting on Saturday, December 23.

“He returns with us, he will train until Friday and on Saturday he will go on holiday,” said the manager.
Ancelotti mentioned that Vinicius would resume training on December 30, along with the rest of the squad, allowing ample time to prepare for the next fixture against Valencia on January 3.
“He will return on the 30th, like all of us. We have a lot of time to prepare for the match against Valencia, but we have a lot of wear and tear. We will return on December 30 to train,” he explained.
For what it is worth, this extended rest will be valuable for Vinicius as he works to recover fully and begin the new year in top form.
After the Valencia match, Real Madrid will face Deportiva Minera in the Copa del Rey on January 6, marking the start of the next chapter of their season.
