Despite the fact that Chelsea already have a super young squad this season, Enzo Maresca continues to promote rising stars from the academy when he can.
It’s important for supporters to see that the Blues academy keeps producing young stars for the first team. In fairness, Enzo Maresca has done a superb job so far as the Chelsea manager in keeping that pathway open from the academy to the senior group.
Tyrique George and Josh Acheampong now train regularly in Chelsea’s first team after promotions from the Under-21s side this year.

Tosin Adarabioyo impressed by Josh Acheampong
Chelsea defender Tosin Adarabioyo, 27, has showered one of the club’s youngsters with big praise.
He admits he’s really impressed and excited by Josh Acheampong, the 18-year-old Blues talent who’s come through the ranks at Stamford Bridge.
Acheampong officially signed a new five-year deal with Chelsea this week to put to bed rumours about his future. Now, the right-back’s aim will be to force his way into Maresca’s plans on a permanent basis.
When reacting to Acheampong’s new Chelsea contract, Tosin said via Chelsea’s official website: “He’s an amazing player and I’m very excited to see he’s here to stay.
“Josh has absolutely everything to be a top, top defender. He’s quick, he’s strong, he’s amazing on the ball, and he has a lot of confidence which I love to see in a young defender.”

Reece James congratulated Acheampong after signing his Chelsea contract in midweek and committing his future in west London.
Chelsea believe Acheampong’s new deal is a statement of intent because one of their most highly-rated youngsters has decided to stay. Apparently, he’s in line to play on Thursday night when the Blues host Shamrock Rovers in the Conference League.
Josh Acheampong should get Chelsea minutes
With James still sidelined through injury, Acheampong should provide competition and cover for Malo Gusto in Chelsea’s right-back position in the weeks ahead.
Acheampong has had a brief taste of first-team football with the Blues, making three senior appearances. Now that the English teenager has signed a long-term deal, he should now get the opportunity to kick on and cement his role in the main group.
If Chelsea are to stay and compete around the top of the Premier League table all season, it’s important to keep rotating in the various cup competitions.
