'The time has come': Vitor Pereira now sends classy Instagram message to Al-Shabab ahead of…

A new era is commencing at Wolves with Vitor Pereira about to be unveiled as the club’s new manager.

Wolves sacked Gary O’Neil last weekend following the defeat to Ipswich Town in the Premier League, which was a move many had called for for weeks.

Just hours after O’Neil’s sacking, Wolves entered into talks with Vitor Pereira – and the Portuguese is now all set to take over at Molineux.

He flew to England on Tuesday, and it’s thought Pereira actually took his first Wolves training session on Wednesday.

Ahad of his unveiling today, Pereira actually took to Instagram himself last night to bring the curtain down on his reign at Saudi Pro League club Al-Shabab.

Pereira may only have been in charge at Al-Shabab since February, but managing at the club has clearly left an impression on him.

Late last night, the incoming new Wanderers boss posted on his official Instagram account to say goodbye to all those associated with the Saudi club.

He said: “The time has come to say goodbye to Al Shabab, every day here has been a lesson. Every challenge, an opportunity to grow. Even though the passage was short, we achieved important goals and milestones, overcame obstacles and created memories that will never fade.

“On behalf of myself and my coaching staff, I sincerely thank the players, the staff, the managers and the fans, who have always supported us unconditionally. I take with me the pride of having been part of this club and the certainty that I gave everything, every day! Special thanks to president @msimba_, for the friendship, respect and gratitude he has always shown us throughout this journey.

“This is not only a farewell, but also a reflection on the importance of each step on our path. Now, it’s time to look to the future, always with gratitude for what the past has given me. Thank you Al Shabab! I WISH the club much success for the rest of the season!”

Pereira uploaded three photos with his posts. One was of him and the whole squad, one was of him and the club’s chairman, and Pereira also shared a snap with him and a young fan.

A huge challenge awaits Pereira

From this message it’s clear that Pereira enjoyed his time at Al-Shabab and that there’s a respect there for all at the club, despite having not been there for too long.

And the feelings of the club are seemingly mutual towards the Portuguese, with Al-Shabab president Al-Munajem wishing Pereira well on Instagram, calling him ‘my dear friend’.

Pereira is now walking into a huge challenge at Wolves.

Wolves are in a world of trouble at the moment, with the club languishing in the relegation zone having conceded 40 goals in just 16 Premier League games.

Confidence is low and emotions have spilled over recently and Pereira has got to get a grip of the situation as quickly as possible.

Hopefully, this gamble of an appointment will pay off.
