Real Madrid’s Vinicius Jr. played a key role in his team’s triumphant 3–0 victory over Pachuca in the Intercontinental Cup Final, held at Lusail Stadium. The Brazilian forward capped off a brilliant final with a penalty and by being named the Best Player. Speaking to the media after the game, Vinicius reflected on a memorable week (where he lifted the FIFA Best Player of the Year Award) for himself and his team.
“It’s been a very nice and important week for me,” Vinicius said. “The Real Madrid players help me every day.”
On Bellingham’s Fitness
“I think it’s nothing. He was able to play the whole game. I’ll talk to him now. Hopefully it’s nothing, and we hope he can be with us for the game against Sevilla,”
Addressing Individual Accolades
“Real Madrid is the best team in the world. My teammates help me, and I’m here to play for them and to give everything and defend the most important shirt in the world. I live my days very calmly. I have always worked hard and made an effort. The people who didn’t vote for me are not going to change what I think and what my teammates say every day.”
Pride in Team Achievements
“We always want to win everything. We have been crowned the best club in the world. Hopefully, we can continue like this for a long time and bring titles to this club,”
Marking an Era of Excellence
“I think we are marking an era. The team is doing what history demands. Not many players can wear this shirt. We are chosen,”
️Q: “You have won more titles than Barcelona and Atlético Madrid since your arrival. How do you feel about that?”
