Jude Bellingham has added yet another trophy to his burgeoning collection after helping Real Madrid to win the FIFA Intercontinental Cup.

Bellingham has enjoyed a stellar 2024, inspiring Madrid to a La Liga and Champions League double last season. In January, Bellingham and Los Blancos also won the Supercopa de Espana.

On top of that he was crowned La Liga's Player of the Year and the Champions League's Young Player of the Season. The 21-year-old also enjoyed success on the international stage, playing a pivotal role for England in Euro 2024.

He scored a spectacular bicycle kick equaliser in the Last 16 against Slovakia as the Three Lions reached the tournament's final. And in his penultimate game of the calendar year, Bellingham has won yet another trophy.

He played 88 minutes as Madrid beat Mexican side Pachuca to win the FIFA Intercontinental Cup. Kylian Mbappe netted the opener in the first half before Rodrygo doubled Madrid's lead early in the second period.

Vinicius Junior then wrapped the win six minutes from time in the 84th minute as he squeezed a penalty under goalkeeper Carlos Moreno. The Cup features the club champions of the six confederations of FIFA.

It is played as a knockout tournament with the European team receiving a bye to the final. Pachuca, featuring former West Brom striker Salomon Rondon, beat Botafogo and Al-Ahly for the right to face Madrid.

It is the fifth trophy of 2024 for Bellingham and the midfielder was understandably delighted - firing a message to the club's La Liga and Champions League rivals as he celebrated. He posted on social media: "5th of the year, 2nd of the season. Real Madrid, el mejor club del mundo. We want more!"

Like Bellingham, Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti was thrilled to see his side add another trophy to the cabinet. The Italian hailed his side's 'fantastic year' but reminded them they still have a La Liga clash against Sevilla this weekend.

"It's been a fantastic year. We've had various difficulties throughout the year. Injuries and difficult situations. We're not at our best yet. Winning titles at Real Madrid is easier than elsewhere," he said.

"It's a fantastic club. A club that pushes. I have fantastic players and the best squad in the world. It's true, to be honest. I didn't like the second half of the team's season. In 2025 I'll be back to normal. There's still one game left this year. We're alive.

"The start of the match was a bit like that, but then little by little we took control. Obviously there was a difference in quality and we had to show attitude and little by little we got into it. In the end I liked it and in attack we made the difference."
